I don't know much about it so I think tomorrow I am starting to write articles on medicine. That seems to be the idea in this article at least.

I just managed to handle [40] more page requests/sec than before just by removing a PHP block from a drupal site. Instead I followed the advice from 2bits.com and created a new raw input format with absolutely no input correction or anything else. This format unlike php input format can be cached by drupal and therefore speeds up the whole thing. So just to repeat it here: watch out for evil php input format on drupal, it can't be cached. Not in blocks and not in nodes.

If you are using plymouth-git 20110731-1 you may not be able to shut down your system properly. A quick fix is described on the AUR page for plymouth-git. I can't confirm that it works since I just disabled plymouth.

Once again archlinux rolls out an update which needs user interaction. This time you will need more time - there have been several changes to rc.conf. When upgrading you are not told much more than "warning: /etc/rc.conf installed as /etc/rc.conf.pacnew". This happens on many updates and I have started to ignore it. This time it was a mistake though. Many things have changed in rc.conf, you will definitely need to apply your configuration to the new rc.conf style in order to have a properly working system.

Once again KDE ships a major update versioned 4.7. Read the announcement here while I am already downloading the update. For the archlinux users out there, a little user interaction is needed, some packages are being replaced and there is a conflict between libkexiv2 and kdegraphics-libs. You can probably just hit yes whatever pacman asks you (at your own risk).
